Regional Spotlight 2024 Artists Announced

Hervey Bay Regional Gallery and Fraser Coast Regional Council is proud to announce the artists selected for the 2024 Regional Spotlight exhibition.

Expressions of interest were welcomed from artists living across the Wide Bay-Burnett region, with over 40 submissions received. Ten artists have been selected for the exhibition which will take place at HBRG 21 September – 17 November 2024. 

The selected artists are: Vanessa Allegra, Avi Amesbury, Adam Anderson, Susan Zela Bissett, Kerri Dixon, Seinileva Huakau, Julie McGillivray, Monique Mennie, Dona Norwood and Jacinta Padgett.

The inaugural Regional Spotlight exhibition in 2024 will include pieces spanning painting, photography, sculpture, ceramics and mixed media work.

The selection panel, comprising HBRG staff, were impressed by the diversity of submissions and the wide geographic spread of artists from the broader region. The exhibiting artists were selected based on their innovative approach to materials and their compelling perspectives on subjects relevant to regional artistic practice.

From 2024 onwards the Regional Spotlight initiative will become an annual fixture in Hervey Bay Regional Gallery's exhibition program, regularly showcasing local artistic talent and positioning HBRG as a leading gallery in the Wide Bay-Burnett region.
