After an extensive refurbishment we were thrilled to celebrate our reopening to the public with a day of activities, workshops and talks. The celebrations included the opening of two new exhibitions Wildflowering By Design (Wild/Flower Women IV) and Jam Factory ICON Angela Valamanesh: About Being Here as well as a suite of programs for everyone. Highlights included a Butchulla Seasonal Garden Tour with artist Joel Barney including Blackmans Cultural Indulgence bush food tasting platters, Mark making and drawing in response to nature - with Wildflowering by Design artists Edith Rewa and Marni Stuart, Woven bracelet making with Wildflowering by Design artist Francis Blair and Drawing (analogue and digital) with Emma Thorp, a Wildflowering by Design floor talk with Aunty Karen Hall, Curator Dr Sue Davis and other artists, Collage making with Wildflowering by Design artist Marlies Oakley, Face painting and Food trucks.
